We've never seen

Here's how to change that.

Your application was declined because we had no footage to work with. That's the only reason - and it's fixable. This page gives you a step-by-step guide to getting the footage JNM needs to represent you.

Clubs ask for footage before they ask for anything else.

Before a club invites a player for a trial, they want to see them. A name, a position, and a stats sheet gets you nowhere. Footage is the credential that opens the door.

🎬
First thing clubs request
When JNM approaches a club about a player, the first question is always "can we see him?" We can't answer that without footage. No footage means no conversation.
📄
Your profile is incomplete without it
JNM builds a full player profile before approaching clubs. Footage is the centrepiece of that profile. Everything else - position, stats, height - supports what's visible on film.
🏛
Trials are earned, not given
A club trial isn't handed out because someone asked. It's earned because the club watched footage and decided this player was worth their time. That's the process everywhere.

How to get footage JNM can work with.

You don't need professional equipment. You don't need an academy setup. You need a phone, someone to hold it, and a real match.

01
Your phone is enough
Any modern smartphone - iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel - shoots in high definition. That's more than enough for clubs to assess a player. You don't need a camera crew, a drone, or specialist equipment. If your phone can record video, you're ready.
★ Film in landscape (horizontal) mode. Portrait footage is never usable.
02
Get to a match
Match footage is what clubs want to see above everything else. Competitive matches are best - cup games, league games, any fixture where you're playing against real opposition at a real level. If you can get someone to film your next match from the stands, that's the most valuable thing you can do. Try to get both halves if possible.
Best Competitive match - both halves
Good Friendly match - both halves
Not accepted Training, 5-a-side, or small-sided games
03
Who to ask to film
Ask a parent, an older sibling, a coach, or a teammate who isn't playing. You're not asking them to be a filmmaker - just to stand in one position, keep you in frame, and press record. Brief them beforehand on where to stand and to keep the camera horizontal. One person with a phone is all you need.
👉 Give them this page to read before they film so they know what to do
04
Where to position the camera
Get them up high if possible - a terrace, a hill, the top row of any stand. Elevation gives a much better view of the game. Ideally 20-40 metres from the near touchline. The camera should follow you throughout - not the ball, not the action in general. Clubs are watching one player: you.
📷 20-40 metres distance, elevated position, follow the player - not the ball
05
Send us everything - don't edit anything
Don't cut the footage. Don't add music. Don't put text on it. Send us the raw files exactly as they came off the phone. JNM creates your professional highlights reel from the raw footage. The less you edit, the more we have to work with. Full match recordings only - not training clips, not 5-a-side, not small-sided games.
⚠ Edited footage with cuts and music actually makes our job harder. Send raw files.

Do this. Avoid that.

Small things make a big difference to usable footage. Here's a quick checklist before you go out and film.

Do this
Film in landscape (horizontal)
Get an elevated position - stands, terrace, hillside
Keep the camera focused on you, not the ball
Film the whole match - both halves, no cuts
Send the raw, unedited files
Film in good light - daytime or well-lit pitch
Avoid this
Portrait (vertical) orientation
Filming from ground level behind the goal
Zooming in and out constantly
Adding music, text overlays, or transitions
Shaky handheld footage without any stabilisation
Filming only highlights or goals - send the full match

From raw footage to a club trial.

Here's exactly what JNM does once you re-apply with footage. No vague promises - just the actual process.

Your footage is reviewed
The JNM team watches your raw footage and assesses your level, your position, and your strengths. This tells us which clubs to target and what to say about you.
JNM creates your highlights reel
We edit your raw footage into a professional highlights reel. This is what we send to clubs. It shows your best moments, your quality on the ball, and your impact on the game - cut together to hold a club scout's attention.
Your profile is built and sent to clubs
We build your full player profile - footage, stats, position, physical profile, background - and approach clubs directly in our network. These are clubs in 40+ countries that we have existing relationships with.
Trials are arranged
When clubs respond with interest, JNM handles the logistics of arranging the trial. You focus on preparing. We handle everything else.

Answered.

Why was my application declined for no highlights?+
JNM can't approach clubs on your behalf without footage. Clubs ask to see a player before they agree to a trial - that's standard industry practice everywhere. Without footage, we have nothing to show them. It's not a reflection of your ability, it's a practical requirement of the process.
What if I don't have any matches coming up soon?+
Then you'll need to wait until you do. Training footage, 5-a-side, and small-sided games are not accepted - clubs won't assess a player from that kind of footage, so neither can we. Look at what matches you can get into in the meantime: friendlies, local competitions, academy open days, Sunday league. Any full-size competitive match against real opposition works. The sooner you get into a match, the sooner you can re-apply.
Does the footage have to be from a recent match?+
Recent is better, but if you have existing footage from the last 12-18 months that's good quality, that can work. Clubs want to see who you are now, so footage from 3-4 years ago isn't useful. If it's within the last season or two and you haven't changed level significantly, send it.
Can I use footage that was already filmed - like from a previous tournament?+
Yes - if it meets the quality criteria. Landscape, reasonable stability, following you, not edited. Footage someone else filmed at a tournament is fine to use. Send it along with anything new you can get and the JNM team will assess what's usable.
What if my footage isn't very good quality?+
Submit it anyway and let the team assess it. Average quality footage of a good performance is better than no footage. The threshold isn't a cinematic standard - it's whether clubs can see your ability clearly enough to make a decision. If the footage isn't usable, you'll be told, and you'll know what to do differently next time.
How long does it take for JNM to review my footage?+
Once you re-apply with footage, the team reviews applications in the order they come in. You'll hear back with a decision on whether JNM can represent you and what the next steps look like.
Is there a minimum amount of footage?+
Aim for at least one full half - 45 minutes of real match footage. A full match (both halves) is better. More is always better. Training footage and small-sided games are not accepted regardless of duration.

The players who get trials are the ones who made themselves easy to say yes to.
